Journaling Retreat in San Diego with artist/author Juliana Coles
Saturday-Sunday, January 21-22,
Join a tribe of intrepid mystics, creatives & seekers at the inspiring Pnina Gold
Studio for a soulful weekend retreat of Visual Journaling. Learn to combine journal writing with raw imagery in the safe container
of a book for self expression, healing and transformation. We have the power to create the change we seek. With mutli-layered
exercises, we revision the life we desire and by making it tangible on the page, we make it so. No prior experience necessary!
New Year's resolutions- this is way beyond that- it's not even visioning...It's Revisioning. We have
the power to recreate exactly what we want...
The New Year is upon us. We welcome and honor this time of transition by working together in a group to explore in our
visual journals where we have been and where we would like to direct our intentions. What was, what is, and where
it is time to turn and face ourselves. Creation, through the bridge of mixed media, is the way we connect with our source
to develop an internal dialogue that combines words with imagery for healing and transformation.
This creative path, also known as active meditation,
is how we reawaken our intuition.
Discovering our inner voice through artmaking and journal writing stirs that slumbering
Develop your own powers of insight and redirect your vision.
All paths lead to the center in this two day creativity retreat. The Revisionary Journal: renew, reawaken, reconnect to that
voice of wisdom inside you through raw, powerful, creativity. This is Intense stuff. You need to want to be here. You need
to know it is time to open that door that has been closed and sealed up for so long. If you are ready, and you know who
you are, then come with me...you can picture it. You can revision it.

Juliana Coles, award winning fine artist, received her BFA from the Academy of Art University San Francisco.
A controversial pioneer of the Art Journaling movement, Coles developed “Extreme Visual Journaling,” an active
meditation technique and spiritual practice that accesses archetypal signs and symbols from the unconscious for transformation
and healing. What began as a personal creative inquiry into developing new pathways in the brain after her epileptic
seizures, this process, taught by Coles internationally, is now used by art therapists, teachers, artists and professionals
around the world. Coles has been teaching and refining this creative process since 1992. Her inspiring Visual Journals
have been featured in over 20 books including “Making Journals By Hand,” and as part of the “1000 Journals
Project" her work was exhibited at the SFMOMA. Coles recently returned from an artist residency in Tetuoan, Morocco,
and creates from her enchanted studio in Albuquerque, NM with her Ghost Cat, Petey, RIP. Contact the artist/author/instructor
