expresyourself.jpgDear distant travelers and seekers,

Welcome, to the "Initiation" Online Workshop, the very foundation of the Extreme Journalism series. Where ever you are, my goal is to offer a similar intimate experience to the five week programs that were held at my Enchanted Studio in Albuquerque.  I have designed this program so that it feels like I am right there with you by offering mp3 audio files, video, and most important, the discussion groups where I give feedback and support; you are not alone.  I look forward to working with you and I hope you will be inspired to share with other kindred spirits through the Tribal Councils, otherwise known as Group Forums.  Introspection is not valued in this world, so consider yourself a pioneer, a rebel, a revolutionary.  We know who we are and we like it this way.  It's time to tell it like it is.  Step out of your comfort zone and into the shadows.  Join my posse.  Together, we will light the way.

No experience necessary

Come inside; it's beautiful in here.

Initiation Description

This remarkable and life changing workshop is designed for all levels as the threshold into the inner world of Extreme Visual Journalism.  It contains everything both the beginner and advanced level Visual Journalist will need to know to either begin or deepen this practice of combining words with imagery in a book for self dialogue, transformation, and healing. Most of the information contained in this workshop is classified and will not be provided in any Extreme Journaling Instruction manual previously available (http://julianacoles.etsy.com ). Most of this material has never before been published or viewed by anyone. All my secrets will be exposed. The focus of this class is to create a tangible poetic/artistic history in an ongoing process that does not end when the 5 "week" session is over.  This workshop will satisfy your need to question and provide a safe supportive environment in which to come up with answers.

Tribal Council:  Much of the vision for this class is to connect a community through their creativity. Each class session, or chapter, will represent a diverse collective of individuals with a broad spectrum of artistic and life experience with which they bring to the group.  In working with common contextual themes such as self portraits, vision letters, found object collages and narratives, the group is united in their individual search for inner and outward connection. This will be a safe and supportive environment for you to reclaim what was lost, stolen, pushed aside, forgotten, abandoned, buried, strangled, stomped down, beaten, tamed, quieted, silenced, taken away, violated, abused.  Celebrate what is uncovered, in all its tragedy, beauty, and glory.  Your Visual Journal will be your reference book for soul matters;  a secure place where you will be prompted to face your own experience by making that experience a tangible image through my mixed media techniques of combining words with images in the safe container of a book for transformation and healing.

Welcome, to the Revolution
